The NRL season is not going to start well for the St George Illawarra Dragons.
After being beaten by the North Queensland Cowboys in the first round the Dragons are fronting up to the South Sydney Rabbitohs, who conquered the reigning premiers the Sydney Roosters last week.
There seems every chance that the encounter at Jubilee Oval on Thursday night will end in another drubbing for the Dragons.
It is likely the two matches on Friday will be closely fought and entertaining affairs.
The Canberra Raiders meet Melbourne Storm at GIO Stadium in the first game and then the Brisbane Broncos will play the Cowboys at Suncorp Stadium.
On Saturday the Roosters can be expected to redeem some lost prestige by beating the Manly Sea Eagles at Brookside Oval.
