Pondus had excuses in York Ebor [2800m] – settled back against trend – but really caught the eye on Australian debut just failing to overhaul Princess Jenni in Bendigo Cup.
Le Don De Vie was performing well in England – scoring easily at Windsor after luckless 3rd Goodwood 2400m – before excellent effort on local debut leading till last few strides 2nd Geelong Cup.
Shared Ambition won first three Australian starts but only one victory in 10 starts since. Peaked on run 5th 2500m this course then no match Miami Bound 2nd Valley Cup. ..
Chapada can be forgiven latest 9th in Caulfield Cup when trapped wide on soft track. Dashing win in Gr. 2 Herbert Power previous and expected to get similar cosy run.
Haky [5] French import rarely runs two races alike but did hit the line with intent when 3rd in Bendigo Cup.
Scarlet Dream [11] appreciated step up to 2000m when 4th in Gr. 3 Craven Plate then thwarted by leader-bias 4th Randwick 2400m.

Bivouac produced career best in the Newmarket over this route in March and is going as well, powering home behind Australia’s best sprinter Classique Legend when 2nd in Everest.
Libertini defeated Classique Legend when resuming Randwick 1200m then had a much tougher run when 8th in Everest. Placed behind Exceedance and Bivouac in Gr. 1 Coolmore here last spring.
Santa Ana Lane won this race in 2018 then 5th last year when in “slow lane”. Worked home strongly in Everest indicating a peak performance is imminent. .
Nature Strip destroyed his rivals in this race last year but has been below par in three starts this campaign. Take on trust.
Hey Doc [4] won two Group 1’s since returning from a lengthy absence last spring. Loves fast ground – set new record for 1200m Valley Manikato Stakes.
Zoutori [6] invariably produces his best at Flemington although past two victories this course were dogged rather than dashing.

Vanna Girl won four on the trot before break and primed for this following 3rd in Randwick Craven Plate [2000m] 9th in Empire Rose when unable to secure clear running when travelling well.
She’s Ideel has drawn wide but will settle rearward. Charged home from last when successful Randwick 2000m before subsequent placings Randwick St Leger an Rosehill Cup. Back against own sex. .
Chaillot has impressed in three starts since returning from injury. Settled back in “sprint home” 3rd Caulfield 1600m then peaked on run 4th Gr.1 1600m last Saturday.
Toffee Tongue has a good record at 2000m winning Australasian Oaks in May and nose 2nd classy stablemate Verry Elleegant in Turnbull this course. Drew unfavourably in Caulfield Cup.
Greysful Glamour [4] collared late in this race last year and both dry track starts this prep have been genuine. Drawn to take catching.
In Good Health [7] has turned form around since joining Peter Moody winning Caulfield 1700m before bold efforts in Foundation Cup [2000m] and Gr. 2 Herbert Power.
Affair To Remember [12] appreciates roomier Flemington circuit following determined 2nd in-form West Wind Valley 2040m.

Arcadia Queen returned to elite best with dominant victory over Russian Camelot in Caulfield Stakes [2000m]. Rain put a dampener on her prosects in Cox Plate but she still found the line despite a troubled run.
Melody Belle chased home Irish mare Magic Wand when 2nd last year and has returned to form after two failures in Sydney winning back to back Group’1’s in New Zealand. .
Mugatoo hasn’t put a foot wrong since arriving from England winning six [1600m-2300m] of 10. Just missed in Metropolitan before brave 4th in Cox Plate.
Fifty Stars loves Flemington with victories in the Blamey and Australian Cup [2000m] earlier this year. Worked home stylishly under topweight when 5th in Cantala. .
Harlem [1] won two Australian Cups over this route and was tenacious under 61kg when narrowly beaten in Coongy while Dalasan [7] goes in wider exotics.

Plaquette, progressive mare looked good scoring first-up over this trip on Kensington track then desperately unlucky fast-finishing 2nd Randwick 1000m bench 78.
Meteorite has turned form around this campaign dominating from front Valley 955m and Sale 1000m.
This is tougher.
Express Pass, talented 4yo successful over 1100m at Bendigo and Caulfield before solid 2nd in-form Simply Optimistic Valley 1200m. Drawn to plot quickest course.
Leiter, carefully placed 5yo in the money eight of 11 and was narrowly beaten by classy Gytrash on sole straight appearance. Value.
Can’t Be Done [5] spelled after two starts last prep but did kick off previous campaign with ighting 2nd smart Garner last year’s cup carnival. Check betting.
Mariama [13] has place claims.
