Race 1:
- Eawase (3)
- Khulaasa (1)
- Delusions (9)
Eawase created a good impression in two starts earlier this year powering away from her rivals in listed event at Doomben. Posted wide when resuming then back in a “sprint home” in 1000 Guineas Prelude this route.
Khulassa, Group 3 winner appreciated getting out to 1400m when a fighting 3rd behind Wild Planet at Flemington. Suited back against fillies.
Delusions, well bred filly towelled older opponents on debut Swan Hill 1200m. Stable having a great run.
Zizzis [2] arguably should have won all three starts last season and is ready to fire following two runs back. while Graceful Storm [4] can surprise at big odds.
Race 2:
- Rainier (4)
- Yulong January (3)
- Wild Planet (1)
Rainier, progressive colt closed steadily under 61kg when runner-up at Warwick Farm then an absolute “tragedy beaten” 2nd Wild Planet Flemington 1400m. Best bet.
Yulong January is unbeaten in three starts doing it easily on each occasion the latest on soft ground over this journey at Randwick.
Wild Planet always runs to the mark although was extremely fortunate to get the prize at Flemington last time. Drawn wide.
Ringerdingding [6] ex Sydneysider just missed on first local run Valley 1200m before overpowering his rivals in Benchmark 64 at Bendigo.
Signore Fox [5] has improved this prep winning three of four with only flop coming on soft ground in Gr. 3 Ming Dynasty.
Race 3:
- Eduardo (6)
- Bons Away (3)
- She Knows (7)
Eduardo, lightly raced 5yo getting better with each start. Led till last few strides 2nd Spending To Win 1100m this track then again collared late in Gr.2 at Flemington. Reduction to distance offset by 3kg weight drop.
Bons Away finished close-up in the Gr.1 Oakleigh Plate here last autumn is ready to replicate that with excellent efforts in two starts this prep.
She Knows, underrated mare lumped 63.5kg when 2nd over 1100m at Rosehill before again racing wide when a fighting 6th to Soothing over the same route. Value runner.
Miss Leonidas [8] lightly raced mare ultra impressive scoring on soft ground at Moonee Valley in June and will strip fitter 3rd Grey Shadow 1100m this course when led till inside final furlong while the speedy Quilista [2] is comfortable on all surfaces.
Race 4:
- Soothing (5)
- From Within (8)
- Nieta (6)
Soothing has come back well scoring at Randwick and Rosehill. Didn’t have a lot galloping room when 6th Grey Shadow this course/distance and is 4.5kg better off under SWP.
From Within failed to produce her best in Sydney in last prep but is back on track running her rivals ragged at her past three starts in Queensland.
Nieta simply found the pace too hot in Gr. 1 Moir but is usually competitive in this grade and was posted deep when 3rd behind Fuhryk last year.
Grey Shadow [4] can miss the start but has began on terms in past two beating the boys at Cranbourne before outpointing Fragonard this course/distance.
Acqume [10] ran some nice races at this level in Sydney and did kick off last campaign with a solid 2nd classy She Will Reign Warwick Farm 1100m.
Race 5:
- Greysful Glamour (2)
- Verry Elleegant (6)
- Aristia (3)
Greysful Glamour showed plenty of fight when 3rd in a “strong”“ Spring Stakes at Newcastle then never in doubt thrashing Yulong Meteor Flemington 1800m.
Verry Elleegant won two of three when trained in New Zealand and was very good on first start for Darren Weir when a luckless 3rd subsequent Gr. 1 winner Amphitrite.
Aristia never runs a bad race although is yet to break her maiden. Settled back against the trend in 1000 Guineas Prelude then never sighted daylight when travelling well in Manifold.
Sizzleme [4] gave in-form Yulong Meteor a towelling in bench 70 at Bendigo before doing her best work late over 1800m at Flemington suggesting she’ll relish the extra distance. .
Futooh [1] beat Greysful Glamour in listed event at Randwick in April and has had nothing go her way in three starts this time in. Value runner.
Race 6:
- Thinkin’ Big (1)
- Extra Brut (3)
- Sikorsky (10)
Thinkin’ Big, lightly raced colt looked good when leading throughout in Gr. 3 1800m at Rosehill then didn’t look comfortable on heavy surface when 3rd in Gr. 1 Spring Champion Randwick 2000m.
Extra Brut gets better with each start nailing Thunderdome in last stride 1600m this course before again unleashing late when successful Flemington 1800m.
Sikorsky has improved with each step up in distance holding sway till final 50m 2nd Extra Brut Flemington listed 1800m.
Muswellbrook [2] is a query at the trip but will get a cosy run and does boast a 2nd in Gr. 2 Stutt Stakes.
while Visao [5] has found trouble at his past starts and did look good when successful over 1800m at Flemington before a short break.
Race 7:
- Best Of Days (7)
- Life Less Ordinary (4)
- Sir Charles Road (5)
Best Of Days, imported 5yo getting better with each local start. Ran home powerfully when 3rd in a very competitive Cameron before a brave 2nd in-form Furrion 1700m this course.
Life Less Ordinary was close-up in Doomben Cup [2000m] on back of Wagga Cup success last prep and has been primed for this following two hit-outs at Caulfield.
Sir Charles Road, Sydney Cup placegetter going as well as ever winning Hastings 1600m before courageous 4th Night’s Watch this route.
Tally [1] ready to improve following two starts from a break while Mask Of Time [10] adds value for those going wider.
Race 8:
- The Cliffsofmoher (2)
- Youngstar (18)
- Kings Will Dream (14)
- Chestnut Coat (3)
- Ace High [6]

Race 9:
- Invicibella (3)
- Shumookh (7)
- Invincible Gem [4]
Invincibella, classy mare right at the top of her game. Beat in-form Noire on resumption then simply lacked galloping room in Golden Pendant. Had them covered a long way out at Flemington last time.
Shumookh was placed behind Shoals in Gr. 1 Surround at her fourth start last March. Showed great fighting qualities when successful Rosehill 1400m before going too keen on heavy last time.
Invincible Gem [8] boasts group 1 form – placing in Randwick Guineas and Canterbury Stakes – and did work home stylishly when returning behind Santa Ana Lane over 1200m.
Booker [6] beat Shoals in the 1000 Guineas Prelude over this route last spring and will strip fitter head 2nd in-form Winter Bride 1200m here last Saturday.
Aloisia [2] won the 1000 Guineas at this carnival last year and did pick up nice late ground at Flemington while Ellicazoom [9] is back to her best.
Race 10:
- Mr Sneaky (8)
- Peaceful State (5)
- Crack Me Up (1)
Mr Sneaky was narrowly beaten 1 Rupert Clarke over this route last season and is going well despite missing the place in past two. Ridden too close at the Valley and too far back last time. .
Peaceful State, lovely colt only secured clear running when race over 2nd group winning stable mate Land Of Plenty Valley 1200m then always wide in Rupert Clarke.
Crack Me Up has a good record in Queensland and NSW and is well placed with only 2.5kg over the minimum. Conceded Eckstein 5kg when a close-up at Flemington last time. .
Dreamforce [6] won five of eight last season and didn’t appear suited over the straight course when returning at Flemington. Ideally drawn.
Tom Melbourne [7] has been competitive in tougher races than this although finds it hard to win. May improve if ridden with greater patience.
BEST: RANIER
EACH-WAY: THE CLIFFSOFMOHER
LONGSHOT CRACK ME UP
