AFL Round 3 Selections by Graeme Kelly

Another marquis clash coming up on Saturday when last year’s grand finalists the West Coast and Collingwood clash at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Saturday.

The Eagles prevailed by five points in the premiership decider but the Magpies may have the edge this time.

Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury and veteran Steele Sidebottom are playing in the usual brilliant style so they will be troublesome all over the ground for the Eagles.

However, it is attack where West Coast will have the biggest problems in trying to combat Jordan De Goey and the Mason Cox.

De Goey is an absolute match winner and Cox, who is the game’s tallest player, is very difficult to beat in marking contests.

The round begins on Thursday night with the Adelaide  versus the Geelong at Adelaide Oval.

With the home ground advantage the Crows should prove superior but the Cats cannot be under-estimated.
