Emotions will be running high for a number of reasons when South Sydney clash with Brisbane at ANZ Stadium on Thursday night.
As a prelude to the match tribute will be paid to Greg Inglis the recently Rabbitohs captain.
In 2009, when with Melbourne, Inglis was chosen as the world’s best player.
After moving to the Rabbitohs in 2011 he played 146 games for the club and scored 146 tries including the premiership winner in 2011.
Inglis, who at 32 has been seriously troubled by injuries, also played for Australia in 39 tests and in 32 State of Origin encounters with Queensland.
Added to that the night will mark the first time Wayne Bennett and Anthony Siebold, who interchanged their coaching positions leading up to the 2019 season, will confront each other.
With the Rabbitohs having won six games and the Broncos only two it seems Bennett will come out a winner.
