BUFFALO RIVER showed potential when trained by John Gosden in England but has really found his niche since moving to Flemington winning four – all on soft ground – of five starts and he did have excuses in Golden Eagle at Randwick. Kicked of current campaign with dominant all-the-way victory over this trip at Caulfield and has drawn much better.

VEGAS KNIGHT has always threatened to win a decent race just failing to catch The Holy One in Gr. 2 Stutt Stakes [1600m] at Moonee Valley last spring. Nearing best following five starts from a break closing steadily 3rd speedy The Lifeline Caulfield 1600m before tackling older horses when 6th in Easter Cup.

ATLANTICA had nothing go her way in three starts earlier this season and was very good first-up at Geelong [1100m], holding sway till near post after working hard and going early. Won’t be fazed by heavy condition and was 2nd [61kg] on heavy 9 at Sandown last August.

CHAROSSA hit a purple patch of form last winter winning three on the trot including Flemington 2000m on heavy 8. Going equally as well placing in listed event at Morphettville before fighting 2nd Exasperate Caulfield 1600m. Can be forgiven latest 7th on home track when worked hard under 61kg.
