Melbourne Cup-winning trainer O’Brien claims Oaks with Miami Bound win by Michael Lynch

Trainer Danny O’Brien pulled off the Melbourne Cup and the Kennedy Oaks double when Miami Bound proved far too good for her rivals in the 2500-metre group 1 classic under Damien Oliver, who won the Oaks for the fifth time.

Oliver was also bringing up a momentous double of his own, having taken out the group 1 Victoria Derby on Warned on Saturday, Miami Bound having given him is 119th group 1 winner.

O’Brien scored in the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday with Vow and Declare, and in Miami Bound he has also found a really promising young stayer.
