
The lead up – which can be gruelling for this participating – to the 2019 Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling Sale commences on Friday, January 4.
That is the day when yearlings will be first available for inspection at the sales complex.
It is also the date for the Northcliff Surf Life Saving Club’s Sportsman’s lunch, which has become a feature attraction for those attending the sales.
The yearlings are also available for inspection on Saturday, January 5, when an exciting race meeting will be conducted by the Gold Coast Turf Club.
The on the Sunday, besides the inspections, comes the Pacific Fair Magic Millions Polo Tournament at Doug Jennings Park at The Spit.
“This is the third year we’ve had the polo and we are immensely proud that we have attracted world leading players, including Nacho Figueras,” says Magic Millions Sales principal Gerry Harvey.
“Patron of Magic Millions Racing Women Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall will be part of the day.”
On Monday, January 7 the Women in Racing Luncheon, which has become an extremely popular event, will be conducted at the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort at Main Beach.
The following day the all important The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions barrier draw will be held on the Surfers Paradise foreshore from 6 a.m.
This will evolve into a very testing day with the Carbine Club Luncheon on from 11.45 a.m. and the Magic Millions Launch Party, by invitation only, on the Surfers Paradise foreshore from 6.30 p.m.
The sales start at 10 a.m. on the Wednesday and for those not buying early lots there is a Sparkling Ladies and Gents Luncheon at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort and Spa from noon.
The sales resume at 10 a.m. on the Thursday and later that day, from 6 p.m., the Gold Coast Turf Club will hold a Calcutta on The Star Magic Millions Two-Year-Old Classic.
On Friday, January 11, the sales continue and there will be a Hats and High Tea at Soul Surfers Paradise from 10.30 a.m.
The carnival reaches its climax on Saturday, January 12, when the $2 million Magic Millions Two-Year-Old Classic, with its $500,000 Racing Women’s bonus, will be decided along with the $2 million Gold Coast Magic Millions Three-Year-Old Guineas.
There is, as always, a Harrolds Fashions on the Field contest.
