Team Williams established what may be a new Melbourne Cup-winning template last year when it brought out a northern hemisphere three-year-old in Rekindling, who was physically and mentally mature enough to claim Australia’s greatest race.
Having established a precedent, it is hoping to repeat the result this year with Latrobe, another northern hemisphere three-year-old with a similar background.
