Irish jockey Oisin Murphy jets into Melbourne for the big group 1 festival at Moonee Valley fully aware that he could become the villain of the piece on Saturday if he can somehow dethrone the queen of the Australian turf and defeat Winx in her bid for a record fourth Cox Plate.
The 23-year-old won’t, of course, be bothered about any negative reaction he might face from The Valley crowd if he can pull off the seemingly impossible on Benbatl, Godolphin’s challenger for Winx’s crown.
