
Champion harness racing drivers Chris Alford and John Caldow took two former stars of the track, Smudge Bromac and Waikare Aristocrat, for a stroll along the banks of the Yarra River with Southbank as a backdrop in Melbourne.
The excursion was part of Harness Racing Victoria’s 2018 TAB Inter Dominion Breakfast of Champions and Barrier Draw function at Zinc Bar and it captured the attention of many morning commuters.
Smudge Bromac, who won 36 races and almost $500,000 in stakemoney, and 15-race winning trotter Waikare Aristocrat are part of the fantastic HRV HERO program, which re-homes retired harness racing horses.
New Zealand stablemates Spankem and Cruz Bromac top the betting for the $500,000 TAB Inter Dominion pacing final at Melton’s Tabcorp Park.
