AFL Round 8 Selections by Graeme Kelly

Adelaide and Port Adelaide clash in the 46th of their head-to-heads at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.

The statistics are tight with the Crows have won 23 against Power’s 22.

Port captain Ollie Wines is determined to lift his game after a disappointing performance against Collingwood and this might just enable Power to level the ledger.

“This is my first showdown as captain, so it is very special,” Wines says.

“As players we like to play in the big games and it doesn’t get much bigger than this.

“I was unhappy with the way I played against Collingwood and I intend to lift my game against the Crows to prove myself as a leader.”

Another important meeting will be between the improving St Kilda and premiership defenders West Coast at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.

Probably the Saints have more depending on the outcome but the Eagles will probably prove superior with their all-round strength.
