AFL Round 14 Selections by Graeme Kelly

A critical match looms for St Kilda and Brisbane when they clash at Marvel Stadium on Saturday.

Both sides have climbed from the depths of last season when Brisbane finished 15th and the Saints 16th.

This year the Lions, currently in seventh place with seven wins and five losses, and the 11th placed St. Kilda, with six wins and six losses, have finals aspirations.

However, the Lions suffered a setback when beaten by the lowly Carlton two weeks ago while the Saints only scrambled home against Gold Coast last weekend.

On that basis neither side can go into this encounter chockfull of confidence.

But with captain Dayne Zorko and the prolific possession winner Lachie Neale leading the way the Lions should have the edge, which would move the club closer to a finals berth.
