Race 5:

  1. Final Hearing (3)
  2. Raabeeha (8)
  3. Vinaceous (6)
  4. Mabel Josephine (4)

Final Hearing has been thereabouts in three starts since moving to Adelaide and does boast listed form in WA including close 2nd Angelic Ruler.

Raabeeha has looked good beating lesser lights at Murray Bridge [twice] although was a tad disappointing 5th listed Hill Smith this route two starts ago.

Vinaceous showed staying potential when trained in WA and has improved with each start for new stable winning Kyneton 1600m, Drawn to get a cosy run.

Mabel Josephine is a query at 1800m but is in career best form scoring over 1600m here before 3rd Exalted Dee same route when collared late while Eperdument [2] worked home nicely when resuming over 1400m and can surprise at big odds.

Race 6:

  1. Nasifa (9)
  2. Kenyan Wonder (13)
  3. Danger Deal (1)
  4. Seababe (11)

Nasifa, 5yo showed promise in handful of starts last season although is clearly more effective on good ground winning 1050m this course and Parks 1250m.

Kenyan Wonder hasn’t delivered on early promise but did work home strongly behind Danger Deal on inner circuit and is better suited on main track.

Danger Deal will need luck from widest gate but is genuine and rarely disappoints in this grade. Had excuses last time following a dominant win Parks 1250m.

Seababe is better known over longer distances winning Canterbury 1900m [Feb 15] but resumes for astute local stable and a forward showing is on the cards while Zarace [7] will take catching from inside draw.

Race 7:

  1. Columbia (8)
  2. Zalmona (2)
  3. Ambleve (13)
  4. Aiguilette [9]

Columbia has been racing well in tougher grade in Victoria. Set impossible task 3rd Lagerfield Valley 1200m before placing behind  Usain Bowler and Bravo Tango Caulfield 1400m Oct 16.

Zalmona wasn’t knocked about when returning over unsuitable 1000m and is clearly more effective on main track placing in Christmas Hcp and McKay Stakes. Well weighted.

Ambleve, Ballarat trained mare who is progressing through her grades winning back-to-back Moonee Valley 1200m. Has the speed to offset wide draw.

Aiguilette has won five [1200m-1350m] of nine and is back to his best charging late 3rd this route before overpowering his rivals at Strathalbyn.

Regalo De Gaetano [12] has found the line in all six starts this year – winning four – and is primed for a bold first-up showing.

Captain Punch [1] almost unbeatable in Darwin  – winning past two Palmerston Sprints – but is also smart on turf splitting Runson and Thermal Current in last year’s Cranbourne Apache Cat [1000m].

Race 8:

  1. Tongsai Boss (4)
  2. Dexter You Devil (1)
  3. Shrouded In Mist (7)
  4. Cannot Be Serios [9]

Tongsai Boss hasn’t missed a beat this prep closing strongly in two starts over shorter trips before effortless win this route. Conceded in-form Jentico 3kg when dropping back to 1400m inner course.

Dexter You Devil had been towelling them in benchmark races but unable to take the next step in Balaklava and Murray Bridge Cups. Thwarted on-pace bias 2nd Parks 1550m.
Shrouded In Mist has been huge odds in past three starts in Victoria although did work home nicely behind Sure Knee at Flemington and was 3rd Balaklava Cup before trip east.

Cannot Be Serios was brave under 58kg head 2nd Raging Queen [53.5kg] Parks 1400m before solid 3rd Heavenly Emperor Valley 1600m. Will settle top-three and take catching.

Secret Vega [3] had been struggling in Victoria before beating moderates Parks 1550m.

BEST:   TONGSAI BOSS
