Astonishingly, Craig Williams did not have a ride on Thursday’s group 1 Flemington feature, the Kennedy Oaks.
It’s a shame no committee member or enterprising owner had the chutzpah to make a late entry for a broomstick.
In the form Williams is in, he would have probably been able to defy a wide draw (as he did on Vow and Declare in his first Melbourne Cup triumph on Tuesday), missing the start or meeting with any kind of trouble in running and still getting up to win.
