Teduom (USA) continued her incredible year when reeling in Tobah (GB) in the closing stages of the USD$250,000 Fillies Mile Presented by Al Hammadi Hospitals Group, the opening race of The Saudi Cup weekend at King Abdulaziz Racecourse.
The Fillies Mile was almost a replay of the Prince Abdullah Bin Jalawi Cup earlier this year when Teduom finished strongly to beat Tobah. Since then the Fehaid Muteb Alsubaie-owned Teduom, a daughter of Street Sense, also won the 1000 Guineas here last month.
Sioux Perfect (IRE) had set very strong fractions in the early part of Friday’s opening race but she faded in the home stretch as Tobah took over at the front. Under a composed ride from Nawaf Almudiani, Teduom went in pursuit of the new leader and duly obliged in the closing stages by a length and three-quarters for trainer Faisal Aladhayani, passing the post in a time of 1.40.860.
